Bent Spoon Duo have made a name for themselves in the world of Free Improv. The duo is comprised of two stalwart improvisers Chris Dadge (Bug Incision, Lab Coast, Samantha Savage Smith) and Scott “Monty” Munro (Viet Cong, Chad VanGaalen).

They have many releases to their name, from labels like House of Alchemy, Holy Cheever Church Records as well as Dadge’s own Bug Incision label (now in its tenth year of operation).

This release features recordings from two separate dates, both recorded at the CJSW 90.9 FM studios in Calgary. First, the duo is joined by Christopher Riggs playing prepared guitar. Secondly, Jack Wright joins in on saxophones.

Essentially creating one-off trios in each case, Bent Spoon duo shows off a wide range of free-improvisation styles, while Christopher Riggs and Jack Wright both find wonderfully complementary musicians that seem to work perfectly together.
