LE FRUIT VERT | PASSIFLORE

Le Fruit vert prend racine dans le passé musical contrasté, mais complémentaire, d'Andrea-Jane Cornell et de Marie-Douce St-Jacques. Formé à la fin de 2011, le duo s'inspire de ritournelles et fabrique des pièces denses aux mélodies légèrement mouvantes, cycliques et pénétrantes. Enregistré à la maison pendant l'hiver et le printemps 2013, le EP Passiflore est parfumé d'orgues satinées, d'euphonies, de textures sonores angulaires, de battements lents et d'étrangetés naturelles.

Le fruit vert grows out of the divergent, yet complementary musical practices of Marie-Douce St-Jacques and Andrea-Jane Cornell. Formed at the tail end of 2011, the duo finds inspiration in the ritournelle, building in density, falling into cyclical melodic lines and churning chants that return upon themselves like an incantations. Recorded at home between January and May, 2013, Passiflore is steeped in sedate vocals, organ swells, interacting with angular tones, propulsive pulses, textured layers of electronics and field recordings.
